So, have you heard the latest trend – Tadpole Water? EEEK!
Sounds so gross but it’s really not, it’s just chia seeds and hot water for a super healthy and energizing drink. The ‘tadpole’ part is the chia seeds that puff up in the water and maybe look a little like tadpoles.
Since we're always looking for new, fresh ways to up the superfood factor in your breakfast, we thought, why not take the benefits of the tadpole water craze and put them through our Earnest superfood oatmeal vibe?
TADPOLE OATS – FEAR NOT, THEY’RE VEGAN!
Better than the original: we think our tadpole oats way is soooooo much tastier than tadpole water. And of course no tadpoles were used, or harmed in the making of any of our tadpole oats recipes. Check out below for simple prep:
1) Simply add a teaspoon to a tablespoon of chia seeds to our Earnest Superfood Oatmeal Cups (or when prepping our pantry bag)
2) Add hot water and stir
3) Wait 3 minutes, do a final stir and enjoy!
Each teaspoon of chia seeds adds 1g protein, 2g fiber and healthy natural energy. And because you’re adding them to our already healthy Superfood Oatmeal, you’re getting way more nutrition than simply chia seeds in water, up to 7g of fiber total with the chia seeds, and 8g protein to our cup versions. It's even more if you put a full tablespoon. That’s a breakfast powerhouse, with more protein than an egg, and more fiber than the average bowl of raisin bran.
The real secret is that the soluble and insoluble fibers from the chia seeds and the oats provides a great satisfying feeling to stave off morning hunger, making you feel fuller longer and aiding in gut health too.
For a fun new superfood breakfast, try adding chia seeds to any of our oatmeals, including our Blueberry Chia, which already has some chia in there!
